Alright; here is a hypothetical situation (which I am in), with an end result that you want to achieve: being able to capture video, through some means, to transfer it onto a PC. Here's your current equipment:
- a monitor, which has two inputs (VGA (which my monitor likes to call AGB) and DVI) and no output
- an Xbox 360, which can connect either through VGA into the monitor or component into something else
- a video camera that can act as a VCR, with a cord that connects to the component output of a device
In the past, I had a TV with a video/audio out, which I sent to my video camera, which I recorded video directly on to (and from there imported it to my PC). But, now that I am using a monitor, I have no such luxury. I am at a complete loss as to how to do this without aiming the camera at the screen as I play (which would be horrible quality). Note: I am more concerned about the video than I am about the audio; if there is a solution that only allows video to be processed, that'd be fine.
I am open to buying new adapters / capture hardware, I just need to figure out what to get. All I can think of is getting a VGA (1) female to (2) male splitter, wherein one end can go into the monitor, and the other going into some kind of capture device that accepts a VGA input. *ANY* help would be appreciated greatly.
Thanks;
