Question Help with 4.1 speaker system problems

This is my problem, I have a 4.1 Boston Accoustics speaker system. The Model number is BA7800. I need to be able to play it in stereo because my laptop is only playing it in...well...not really at all unless I do some crazy setup through a sony stereo ampliphier, but that makes it mono. I at least want stereo out of it.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to hook this up?

Also, I am going to plug this into my tv too with a RCA to 3.5mm converter, so if anyone has a suggestion that involves direct RCA that would work too.

Thanks
