Hey, I got this headset last night, http://www.alteclansing.com/product_...asp?pID=AHS615,
and it comes with that controller that most do, connected to the wires, and I have an option to put on surround sound, then there is a regular volume like all headsets have.

There is a slot to stick in a "AAA" triple A battery, and I have it in there, and I turn this switch on, and it has a lot better sound, can anyone just tell me what the BEST settings would be for GAMING only?? I play CS 1.6 a lot, America's Army, and some other games..

So, should I have surround on or off, I don't know what! Someone please help.

I did see what you guys said, but I posted that about 2 hours before I went to get the headset and no one responded.. I was basically on my own.. Plus, I didn't want to order it offline, because I felt like having it that night and I got this one, and it works GREAT, but I just have that question about the surround sound feature. Should I turn it on, or off? Remember, I am gaming with this, I wanna be able to tell which direction people's footsteps are coming from..

thats a personal preference thing... we can't tell you what you want.

why not turn it on? if you want to know where the footsteps are coming from, then it would probably be helpful.

Well it cant hurt to put it on. Just try it with different settings and see what you like best.
