| Got some Logitech X-530's today 5.1 jobbies, i got them to replace my z230's(2.1) and im very impressed
Anyway after about an hour of testing it on Battlefield 2142(it was amazing) i went to my desktop and was just chatting on msn and i could hear a faint sound like the tv/radio or something coming out of my speakers!? i was like what the **** is going on here!? anyway my mate said his sometimes does that, he said 5.1 is more open to picking up wireless signals or something? hmmm i dont know what is it but i definatly had some sound from my speakers when i wasnt doing anything with sound on the pc? |

| Oh, you mean X-530? Thats what i currently have and its pretty nice. I dont have your problem, yet sometimes when i turn on my speakers a bunch of tinkily static metallic noise comes out, and the way to fix it is by switching modes at least once in my x-fi and its fixed. I heard it also had to do with other electonic equipment being on/off.

Hmm i dont know what to do then because im just using my onboard sound so havent got an aftermarket card to tweak.
Also in my volume controls by the clock in taskmanger ive made it "show" the volume levels for all 5 speakers but there greyed out so i cant adjust them? why is this |

don't get mad but
cheap components are horrible at filtering noise out.
you can try thing like ground loop isolaters, hum magnets grounding everything or try plugging all sources from the same plug

| Eric B, what do you mean cheap components? i had the cheaper 2.1's and they NEVER made one single sound in the 2 months i was using them, but these do? maybe its because there more powerful and theres 2 more speakers and a bigger sub? hmmm i dunno im not a scientist!.
Having said that, ive just watched Blade Trinity(wesley snipes) for 2 hrs and it was absolutely fantastic, just like being at the movies, and there still fine now, must be something that upsets them from time to time |
