Default Glitches when recording sound!!!

My Spec:

Akasa Green 80+ 400W PSU
Intel Core 2 Duo 6600E
Asus P5B M/B
2x512MB Dual Channel OCZ 667MHz DDR2 Ram
Asus ATI Radeon X1600 Pro 512MB Gfx
Soundblaster Audigy 2 Platinum ZS
Sony DVD-Ram/RW
Sony DVD

Whilst recording sound in a program such as Adobe Audition I find that I keep getting glitches where the sound suddenly messes up. Can someone explain why this is happening? My CPU is not under a lot of strain and I have the latest drivers for all my devices. I also get the same glitches when watchin TV on my PC in Power Cinema. Any ideas?

Cheers

I'm also having a similar problem with Syntrillium Cool Edit Pro 2.1 (the same program, but before Adobe bought them out).

Maybe it is related to the recording settings; try a lower frequency (eg 44.1k Khz instead of 96k Khz). I did not check if this solves my problem; will try tomorrow.

EDIT: Also check your recording levels.

My problem is with this program as well. Whether I use ASIO drivers or just standard Audition drivers.

I think your onboard sound has a conflict with the sound blaster. disable your onboard sound inthe bios and uninstall and reinstall the sb software

I disabled my onboard soundcard before I even installed the OS, but thanks for the tip.

I had the problem on this computer, so I just took the sb card out.

I had that problem on other computers and disabling in the bios worked. I Didn't know why it just wouldn't work right on this one
