Default dvd storage heat

I'm running out space to store my game discs and thought about using the attic. However, I know that the temperatures can get pretty high; I've measured temps around 110F some days and maybe it could get hotter. I have seen storage temp postings for home made discs at around 131F but I haven't found any info on store bought game discs. Does anyone have info on this subject?

Welcome to Tech-Fourms

Retail/store bought disks are still disks regardless, you are mostly paying for the 1s and 0s on the disk.

110F is quite hot...
if you are looking for LONG TERM storage, I wouldn't put 'em up there.

Hello,

Another thing i would like to add is that the extreme heat could warp the discs so that they cant be used anymore. Not to mention the conditions up there might be to damp in the winter and to dry in the summer. So you would need a humidifier and a dehumidifer to keep the moisture level at a resonable rate during those times of year.

It jsut wouldnt be a good idea to store them in such conditions. If you have a basement or some other place you could store them it would be much more practical.

Cheers,
Mak
