 |  Driver problem on xp I just installed XP, but when I try to install the realtek driver for my sound, it fails during the install. Error message is:"Install Realtek HD audio driver failure !! (Error code : -0001)" I've had a look around, and it seems it might be related to the motherboard. Someone else had exactly the same problem and we both have s-series motherboards. The funny thing is it works fine on vista. The only other 'maybe' problem is the boot drive is the E: drive, and I'm thinking the driver installer might not like that. any ideas would be appreciated! .ekiM

| Re: Driver problem on xp I tried installing the original driver that came with the pc, I also tried downloading the driver specifically for xp, but both times it gives the same error. and yes the chipset drivers are installed. I'll try reinstalling though.

| Re: Driver problem on xp Make sure you have the latest chipset drivers and install them first. after that install the audio drivers. That will be the only way they work.
