I just bought a Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound system and I am wondering how to hook it up to my PC. I have a 6 channel high definition audio sound card on my computer with an S/PDIF-out connection.
What you can do is get Audio cable and a Y adapter that converts the Audio cable to the required jack for your soundcard. Pick what channel you want to run your PC on, Hook up the audio cable to that channel on your reciever, then run it to your soundcard. You can get the adapters at Radio shack for a few bucks.
hook the spdif out to and and go to your soundcard properties and set it output to passthrough
