I have some video training tutorials which I am not sure if it's called collectively shockwave flash (.swf) file? Usually such video is contained in a folder and within there will be four files with different file extensions, for example: video01.htm, video01.swf, video01_config.xml and video01_controller.swf. And to watch the video I normally just double-click on the .htm (or .html) file and it'll launch the web browser automatically and play the video within. My second question is, can I split such a video file into several smaller (shorter) files for easy future reference purpose. If it's possible, how do I go about doing it? Thanks for helping.

Thanks for the reply. I've no problem playing the file actually as I've already install the macromedia/adobe flash player plugin in my Firefox. I want to know more on how to split the file. Do you know how? Thanks!

Okay i am guessing that your first question is if the .swf is tha shockwave file name? Yes. It is jsut called shockwave file. Soem call it shockwave flash file as well. There is no collectively in front of it. As for your second question if you do not thave the actual flash file, meaning the one used to create that flash file then no. You can not split it easily. But it can be done. The way it can be done is thru using a on screen recodered like Camastia Studio. Software like that can record a section of your screen or the whole screen and you can choose the lenght to record. That will be the only way you can split the flash file into smaller files to watch.
