the Asus Xonar D1 (PCI) DX (PCI-E), or the M-Audio Revolution are quite good for the price

Default Re: Cheap Soundcard

I need PCI and the Asus Xonar is wayyyyyyyyy too expensive

is there anything wrong with the SE? in terms of sound quality, i'm perfectly fine with my onboard... I just want to find out if this fixes my speaker problem. and the one I linked is free shipping atm.

I requested it as a holiday gift, and I shouldn't go over $20... I hope they didn't order it yet in case you say it's "bad", so quick responses plz!!

much appreciated

The one I suggested. For under $20 you aren't going to find much and that Diamond is your best bet. I would go with an X-Fi or M-Audio as well but they aren't anywhere near your price.
