Default best audio/video player?

Whats the best one? I currently use:

Audio : WMP (good sound quality with the WoW effect)
Video: VLC

Are there any better ones? Like an alternatives to these? I tried Fubar for Audio, but it may just be me when I say it doesn't have as good as sound quality as WMP, perhaps a feature will turn it on.

But yes, any thoughts?

I use Media Player Classic for video playback. It's light and you can tune everything.

But the WoW effect makes me want to vomit my cookies... It ruines the music. The sound quality is terrible. Sure, it increases the bass, but that's not what equalization is for!

I use Totem or VLC for video playback, and I use RhythmBox for Music.

I give you 20,000 points.

IMHO, I think WMP is the best. Never EVER use the WoW effects though.

I use to use winamp for audio; now I use foobar. They are both very good (when configured properly) but winamp might be easier to use.

i like all of the customization options that winamp has. the UI and plugins are all downloadable, configurable, etc.
