Default AVI files playing faster then normal (Pretty sure has nothing to do with play speed)

Ok I have a collection of avi files movies, anime, ect...They have always worked but today for some reason all my files seem corrupted the sound seems to be playing faster and sometimes it doesnt match the video, as if its lagging. The picture looks kind of weird like you'll see kind of fuzziness and color problems but are BARELY noticeable. I tried reinstalling my codec, got nothing. I dont think it has to do with windows media player because I tried playing the file with powerdvd and its the same. Anyone have a solution? Maybe I deleted something on accedent. I even tried downloading the avi file of an episode I have and its the same.

Also, I dont know if this has anything to do with it but I noticed today also my computer didnt recognize my cd/dvd drive, I found out how to fix that though.

Hey kennywu37,

Could it be that the episodes you're downloading, are corrupted? Try using VLC player. That usually plays anything, without a problem. I recommend it over WMP too.

If all of your sound files are playing too fast it is most likely either the sound driver or the chipset drivers. I had this happen a few times on the old dells i had to work on at my old job. All sounds would be at double speed. Reinstall your sound and chipset drivers.

A CODEC I SAY!!!! A CODEC! I have experience with this problem, I suggest that the issue is a codec.
