hey

i just downloaded an asf file, and tried to play it in wmp9 - which started to download a codec off the server but then it didn't work because the microsoft website said that the required codec, with tag 75, could not be found
i tried to play it in winamp and i got video but no sound

are there any other options or should i give up?

You shouldnt' need any special codecs for an ASF file. My guess is it's a bad file/video.

I always try to stay away from asf and wmv.

did you try winamp 2.9 with the vid4wa plugin?
