What is the term given to an MP3 file that plays a song different from that of its file name?

be more specific, do you mean that it shows a different name in media player,


that has to do with the properties...

EDIT:

if I read the question literaly, then I'd say the file is corrupt

not really...the file is an mp3 coded one but it plays some other thing

I think your problem is one of two things.

1) The file is named incorrectly.

2) The ID2/3 tag has the incorrect information.

Solution: Find the correct information for the song by sampling it on websites like amazon.com. Then change the filename or id2/3 tag accordingly.

And there is no real term for an mp3 like that other then, statistically challenged. (thats politically correct)

its not tagged correct to do it correctly right click properties and change it
