Default All Video Files are Funked up!!!

Any video in any format in any player is horribly distorted. The image comes through near normal, but the color is very distorted as though all settings are horribly twisted. Black specifically is a sparkly multi-colored madness. All these problems arose after I installed Battlefield 2 on my computer and got the newest drivers for my nvidia 6800 GT and the Direct X9.0c. I have tried diagnostics and manually checking all settings and reinstalling these drivers from differend sources yet I can't find what the problem is. Anyone have any ideas?

No new media player was installed with Battlefield 2. God Bless Windows and the fools behind it! Woo!

wel that happened to me once and although it might not be the same problem, try going into windows media player, then go to Tools\Options, then click on the performance tab, under video acceleration click Advanced button, under video acceleration again make sure that 'use high quality mode' box is ticked and not 'use overlays'. Also try the otherway around... the videos became multicoloured and warped for me after installing directx9.0b so i'd say it was from that but can't be completely sure.. anyways give that method a shot

ok, b4 i go into my similar story i'm gonna get to the point - anyone know how i can roll back my directX or uninstall it and reinstall?

This same thing happened to me when I tried to update my nvidia display drivers (fx 5700) and i accidentally unistalled my nvidia all-in-ones for my Asus A7N8X-E Deluxe mobo.. i went back and updated my all-in-ones and my display driver and now my wmp files look like the camera has a yellow film over the lens or something, and when i try to get into cs:source (not that i give a **** about it cuz it's lame, but anyway..) it first says that the video settings arent setting and is setting them to default or something, then it tells me I need hardware that supports at least dirextX 7.0... soooo, any ideas? i have other games that work fine too
