| Firstly: Sorry, I always forget to return here after my problem is solved, I'm sorry for that.. Secondly: I HATE C-media, their support is the worst I've ever been in contact with. They did upgrade their site though, but only the main page is just that bit faster, their downloads an' stuff are just as slow. Thirdly: I've got a problem yet again with my C-media AC'97 onboard soundcard. I DID find the right drivers this time it seems, but my Subwoover still doesn't does what it should (you know, supply me with the all important bass, the little speakers of a 5.1 speakerset don't go low tones "very well") and when I test it with the C-media program (which keeps disapearing from the tray at random times) it only makes the high pitched version of what it should do. p.s. the program that is disapearing is the C-media config screen, and the only way I've found to regain acces to it is by re-installing the codec, and it'll be back, anyone found a better way? It seems that OR my subwoover has died. OR I didn't try one setting. I recall something about editing the registry to reveal another option in the config, but I can't find it. Thanks for the help, I'll try to stick around this time, anyone got some glue? -EGM out

| Ultra Techie | go into the sounds and audio devices api in control panel. On the volume tab locate the speaker settings and then click the advance button, from the drop down pick different setups and see if any of them help make it work. If not, then you may want to look into a sound card that is of higher quality. If you have time and the desire a clean install of windows never hurts, especially with the types of problems your having.
