it's my opinion that most car mid and high speaker are overated. the good ones cost lot of money (400-1100 bucks). the cheap ones? well...

they're cheap.

I got to partsexpress to get my speakers. some high end car speakers are these speakers with their name printed on them

good 6 1/2's. the first one is really powerful

if you are going diss something, you should at the very least know you are talking about. these are really what you called cheap crappy speakers.

http://www.memphiscaraudio.com/produ...ails.asp?id=30

there is only one or 2 coaxials made period, that are any good. one is made by morel and it cost 300 dollars. the other is by diamond audio (400 bucks) and it mount the tweeter on the grill.

by mounting a tweeter in the middle of a speaker and on a pole. you took away it's ability to sound good. for one it won't have any usable frequency below 220-250 hz and it will alway have resonance issues.

any cheap 10 dollar midbass driver will always outperform it. those speaker will play UNIFORMLY from 50hz to 5khz. you just have to add a tweeter and place it somewhere else.

some of the speaker I posted above had been used in thousand dollar home audio system. but I suspect you are dissing them because they are not cheap me too brands like memphis (who play at being a high end car audio dealer. they are really the people that use to be Fulton)

I put the pyramid 6 1/2 in, because even though the product was made by a low end car audio (Fulton was in this category) company, that speaker will always out perform a coaxial

most people use coaxials because it's the only thing that will fit in their vehicle and they don't require an emclosure, but you have a truck and you are using an enclosure, so you don't have those restrictions.

those 6 midbass can give you (especially those tang band as they will eliminate the need for a subwoofer) nice high end sound for the cheap. I dare you to name a coaxial (they usually have .5 - 1.5 mm of xmax) that has 11 mm xmax like that tang band

this is a perfect example.

http://www.madisound.com/cgi-bin/ind....8209&pid=2129

soundstream bought these, they painted them powder blue (so car audio fanatics would love them. looks, not performance are more important to car audio fanboys). then they charged 500 dollar for them

they didn't sell well because, most car audio people would rather spend 100 bucks on some cheapy constructed, but nice looking, bright boomy sounding coaxial speaker like the Memphis's, because they don't want to take the time to really learn about accurate sound

Your right, I dont want to take the time out if my day to learn allt eh crap about how sounds is heard and all this BS. I put a stereo in my truck, it sounds good and I like it. PERIOD now I know you will tell me how I wasted my money and so on, and I honestly dont care.

Thank you for your help anyways.
