Default 6x9 inch options

well I have been looking at 6x9 inch speakers for my pickup, to put in enclosures behind the seat. Now the speakers I have been looking at are pioneer 5 way's for like ~90 bucks. are pioneers any good what about these specific speakers?

Now for a deck, I have heard the eclipse has some good models. also Kenwood. But I am undecided.

any info would be apreciated.

I'd use 6 1/2 or 8's. 6x9 aren't not accurate due to their shape

I had a set of Lightning Audio 6x9's, I had them in my '97 Galant, and they shook off a rear view mirror, gave them away and moved up to some PG 3 ways. $50 bucks for the speakers, and another $50 for the amp to push them, wasn't a bad deal. For the headunit, look into A Pioneer 680P, I think that's the model, most people are gettin' it, seems like a good h/u.

so you mean 6x8's, ok. now when you say not accurate due to thier shape. do you mean they dont sound very good becuase of their lenght to width ratio?

no they are worse. you need piston like performance (round speaker) to get accurate sound

6x9 are bright sounding with no real usable frequency below 400 hz

o i see. so you mean a 8in. round speaker then. Now does a 6 1/2 in round speaker put out decent enough bass until i can save up for a sub and amp?

Yes... but that all depends on its frequency response. You aren't going to go "bump bump" with 6's, but it will be good enough to hold you off for a sub.

It won't go "bump bump" but it will go "bumphhht bumphhht" It will sound like it's farting if you try to much bass.
