Well my uncle just got a 50 inch plasma TV today, and bought a wireless keyboard and mouse so he could hook his laptop up to it and surf the net on the couch. Well I ran the laptop to the tv using S-video. The tv says it runs at 1280x1024. SO I set it as the 2nd monitor at 1280x1024.

Now the problem is that the visual quaility just isnt there. It has a RGB in. Now would that be the better way to go?
Just give me the things I should do to optimze its visual quality.

you can try the 1024x768 setting. remember text and computer stuff will always suck on a tv from a computer, but good video won't

Also plasmas do not have the fine detail of an LCD monitor. Text will not be as sharp.

If it's hdtv you really need to try rgb for higher resolution!

Hmmm... Another question about using a TV as a second monitor. Perhaps I need to make a sticky.
