| Case Fans Make Way Too Much Noise Here is my current case
Currently i have 6 CoolerMaster Silent Red LED Fan 120mm fans
Front - Intake
Base - Intake
Right Side Panel - Intake
Rear - Output
Top (2x) - Output
The front, rear and side panel are power via the motherboard.
The Base and top are were connected directly into the power.
When I turn on the PC, it's extremely noisy.
So I have disconnected the base and top. It's reduced the noise, but I am still not liking it.
Removed the stock stock Fan Mess from the Right Side Panel, again a little less noise.
I would still like to reduce the noise further
Currenlty I am looking at the following products to reduce noise Nexus Case Fan Vibration Absorbers Rubber Anti-Vibration Screw 4-Pack for Closed Chassis Fans Rubber Anti-Vibration Screw 4-Pack for Open Chassis Fans Siliceous Sheet for 120mm Fan Siliceous Washers (12 pack)
Any one have any experience with using these type of products? Do they work?
The other thing that I am looking for is a fan controller that has the option where I can turn the fan completely off. Do they event exist?
Any one

| Re: Case Fans Make Way Too Much Noise I tried to use some noctua screw replacements (like the first three products) in a non-noctua fan and found them simply too hard to insert. You might have better luck but I find there is no replacement for slow fans.

| Re: Case Fans Make Way Too Much Noise The Antec tricools are nice.. 3 speeds means 3 levels of noise.

| Re: Case Fans Make Way Too Much Noise Those will help reduce noise caused by vibrations of the fans but not with "wind" noises. If the problem is sheer decibels then you need to look for fans with lower dba, maybe something like this: Newegg.ca - Scythe S-FLEX SFF21D 120mm Case Fan - Case Fans
Unfortunately lower noise usually means lower rpm and therefore lower air flow.

| Re: Case Fans Make Way Too Much Noise Home depot/Lowes should have these grommets...I've bought them there before.
Lol, I just picked one of these up this week to play with: NCIX.com - Buy Delta 120MMX38MM Dual Ball Bearing Case Fan 5500RPM 252.85CFM 66.5DBA - PFB1212UHE-F00 In Canada.
Sounds like a hurricane in my office It actually blows its self off my desk if not fastened down to something!

It will mean that I will need to pick up a few 3pin Extension Cable and 3pin Fan power splitter along with Siliceous Washers (12 pack)

| Re: Case Fans Make Way Too Much Noise My gear came in the post today.
Just spend about 2 hours putting it all together.
BIg difference.
The power supply is quieter, however i am still getting the air flow noise. Don't think I can do much to change that.
However with fan controller and the can fans, it's done a world of difference.
Especially now can I choose whether i want my fan OFF, LOW or FULL speed. And the number of fans that i have on.
Next on my list of this of things to sort out is the vga fan. RIght now, that's making the most noise.
