Anyone know where you can download Windows media center for free???? I have professional xp so i should be able to run it but I dont know where to go to get it any help would be greatly apprecated

the cheapest way would be to buy a upgrade copy of media center.

there are no standalone software packages to install media center, it is its own OS. however there are media center alternatives. i know I've seen one with a decent user base but i cant seem to find it now.

Yeah, Media Center is a bit over-rated. Some things it's great for and others it's horrible for. I'd go with a different Media Center.
