Hi
Can you guys say where did C get its name from
i read some place, that the precursor to C was B
do you know what came before that?

... was originally developed at Bell Labs by Dennis Ritchie. C was developed from B which was devloped by Ken Thomas at Bell labs and was a cut down version of the Basic Combined Programming Language.

where does kernighan come into the picture
and was B named because it was a cut down version of the Basic Combined Programming Language

Brian Kernighan helped Ritchie write the book 'The C Programming Language' which becmae the language reference for about 10 years before the language was formally standardised.
