Default What should I try to learn next?

I want to start learning a new language pretty soon but I don't know what would be best. I have a pretty thorough grounding in PHP, VB6, Javascript, and I've tried Visual C++ but it scares me.

I was thinking maybe Perl or ASP - d'you think either of those would be good options?

Thanks!

because it's slow, it isn't like the most languages and you can only make web-pages with it!

ASP.NET is faster than PHP, and VBScript is very useful in a variety of programming languages. However, if you know PHP, don't try to learn ASP - they do the exact same thing.

The best thing for you to learn is unequivocally Java.
