Default Visual C++

I am interested in learning to program in Visual C++. However, I cannot find a version compatable withm my computer (running Windows ME). Is there a way to download older versions of the Microsoft C++ program?

I was planning on using it to try and make some games. Would Visual C++ be the best language to program these games in? If not, what language would you suggest?

Thanks for your help.

Visual C++ is a compiler, not a language. (Until .NET)

I reccommend VC++ 6.0, and yes it is a great platform to use.

Check out nehe.gamedev.net for some examples of OpenGL (3d libraries) in VC++.

I would, but it's not compatable with Windows ME.

Windows 2000 Service Pack 4

Windows XP Service Pack 2

Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1

Windows x64 editions

Windows Vista

Windows 7 is looking to be great - if M$ doesn't screw it up!
