Hi, I'm currently reading through 'Head First Java, 2nd Ed' and I was curious if I am on the right track. I do need to learn at least the Java basics before I move onto using it for the web, right? I'm not really sure what I do after I finish this book, my main interest is to use Java for web development, any tips or advice would be appreciated.
I do realize PHP would be well suited to my needs and I have worked with it a fair amount, but I would like to have the option to develop applications for more than just the web, so I thought Java might be something worth looking into.
