hi, everytime i turn on my computer scan disk(or checkdisk)starts. i have a good shut down with no errors and i am running xp
home edition.
what is causing this to happen and how can i fix it?
scandisk takes up to 1hour and 30 minutes when i let it
run.
it is really annoying.
please help

thanks for your help but the page you told me to go to says the cause is because of a Hewlett Packard (HP) ScanJet 5100c scanner. but the problem is i don't have that type of scanner.

what should i do next?
