Hey guys, not sure if this is the right subforum to post this, but let's give it a shot.
Anyway, quick background: I share this computer with my brother. He's a total pain in the *** when it comes to giving up the computer so that I can use it, taking around 20 minutes to "say goodbye to his MSN contacts". So I started thinking about a way to remote reboot his computer, and this is what I came up with:
We have separate Windows XPs, and I am the Admin of them both. I thought about creating a batch file that would run on startup in the background. This batch file would be instructed to hard reboot the machine when I NetSend it a message through another computer in the LAN (my father's).
I'm not sure if I'm using the right words to describe it, but is there any way to make such a thing? Or perhaps an easier solution?
(Note: Since I would be installing it on my own computer, and it would depend on the LAN to run, I don't think it qualifies as hacking in the bad sense of the word. However, if it does, it was not my intention.)
