Default Programs not working correctly on other PCs?

Okay, so I wrote a simple RPG text-game and sent it to my friend. For some reason, parts of the program run differently on his computer. For instance, the 'system("CLS");' command doesn't seem to work on his computer so text just keeps piling up in the command prompt. Is there some command prompt setting he needs to change or something? My program works fine on both of my computers, but not his.

Is there a difference in OS's? (eg: Win 98/ME/XP (Home/Pro))

That could be it.

Nope, both of us use Windows XP Professional. The only thing that might effect it would be that he has SP2 and I'm still on SP1, but would that really make programs work differently like that?
