For a couple of weeks, I have been trying to install the Allegro library, and use it for my c++ applications. However, I just can't seem to get it working. I have been on their forums trying to find solutions, but every time we fix a problem, I get another error. This time, when I build any application, whether or not I'm using Allegro, I receive

Project : error PRJ0003 : Error spawning 'cmd.exe'.
I am using MinGW, and I have checked the environment variables, which seem to be correct. I have also checked all VC++ Directories within MSVC8 Express Edition, and everything looks okay. I have installed the Platform SDK and DirectX SDK.
This page seems to be the only support I could find to fix my problem, yet it did not. Could anyone else offer some support?
