Would it be possible with
some aplications to make them portable, meaning you could take them in a flash memory?
Like you have the program fully extracted into the flash drive and then only have a smaller instilation that instals all the dlls (and such) that the system would need to run the program. And so it would run the program off of the flash drive.
Or are instalations of programs in todays systems very system specific? Like does which files and where the files are installed vary from machine to machine?
Obviouly there would be some setbacks to this like the speed of the program running would most likely depend on the transfer rate of the memory drive and it would take a very large drive in some cases and would take alot of memory on that drive.
Anyway, it's an idea.
