PHP is a server side language, which means it is executed on the server, the user can never view the code.

Yeah, that's normal. If you think about it, if any user could view the code then it would be pretty easy to get database passwords and stuff.

php.net - php is opensource, meaning (FOR THE MOST PART) scripts are free to use. A google search will get you what you want.

yea, the onlly one that really costs that much is the one we're using right now, vBulliten. It's like $180 US to buy it. But there's stuff like phpBB, and Invision Power boards out there...
