What do you mean? Coding stuff up is always superior to buying it - if you're willing anyhow - experience, product, knowledge... can't top that!

i wanted to make a enquiry forum so people can check if the rooms are free at a certain date any ideas

Well, it sounds like simple database stuff - maybe an entry for each room, which also contains a flag for available, size, etc. Then just some scripts to interact - one for the manager or something, when they check in/out, and the second for querying to see if any of size X are available.

You can make it as fancy, or simple, as you want.
