Unhappy Names

once again i find myself turning here for answers that i cannot find to questions i need to answer. i would like to know what pieces of html code to use to enable someone to log into my site and then my site to display that persons name in the pages text automatically without the hassle of having to create new pages. i would also like to know if i would have to create a database of my users and then use something similar to microsoft word mail merge to display this. am in dire need of help.

What language would you be doing this in? And where is the person's name stored?

HTML isn't dynamic...

If you are using php & mysql you could just have them log in once, store the user/pass/other info to the database and then use cookies to display the username or any other info you want to
