Question IP Address

can any one tell me what an ip address is for and how it is importaint? if anyone can help i would appreciat it

In short, as it is related to the internet, an IP address is your logical address for the internet. Just as most of the world has a physical local based address within their state or country, an IP address is a base for identifing who you are (or your PC).
This is a very brief explaination. Perhaps a google search might tell you more. If you have any other questions about any definitions you might find, post any thoughts at this site and I'm sure you'll get a lot of feedback.
