Default Installation files

I have downloaded and installed a software from the internet.I was wanting to know where are the installation files kept so i can delete them and re-install the software.my operating system is XP and windows 2000

What software is it? Is it listed under the Start menu? under Add/Remove Programs?

yes it is listed under the star menu and in the add remove programs of the control panel.not sure the name its in another language.

I have also uninstalled the entire program from control panel but when i reinstall it some how recognises that it has been installed before and therefore dones not allow me to reinstall.any ideas.

It probably added keys to your registry. Good lucking finding them and eliminating them all.

click run and type "regedit"..
in the edit menu, click find..
just type the keyword/s of the system file/s
delete them if you can find them..
