Default If programmers cant do it, its un-doable

Does anyone know how/can find out how to add music to the Windows XP logon screen and have it loop indefinatly?

Im not a programmer but I am almost 40% positive a good friend of mine could attempt to get it working.

I cant seem to find any info on this on google or any other search engine, so I'm either thinking it is impossible or it is just not well known.

Thanks in advance

You could do it, I have a friend who did it on WinXP Pro. I'm a web programmer with a little knowledge of Windows programming, but try to google it, yahoo it, there's someone on the net who is asking the same question.

Hint: The key to searching google, yahoo, etc. is to type the search terms in how others might type terms in.

It's definitely possible. You might have to run a script or change some parameters in the registry or in a system file, but it's definitely possible.

You can do it through the control panel very easily.

Go into the control panel > Sound and Multimedia, Then under the Sounds tab look for Start Windows and select a file to play.

I'm using Windows 2000 but im sure it's the same for XP.

Another thing it looks like it will only play .wav files.

Does Windows XP still use any kind of GINA dll for the logon screen? If you wanted music that looped indefinitely, if it wasn't doable through the registry, you could probably provide your own modified GINA dll to do it.
