I have recently become very interested in learning to program in C.

In the first few chapters of the books im reading it says i will need the following to begin programming.

-editor
-compiler
-linker

Im not sure where to get any of these, i know what an editor and a compiler are, but ill figure it out, i just need to know where i can get them.

I have something called emeditor but i don't know what a linker or compiler are, and i need to get em.

Now i got this thing called mono, it says its a C compiler, but i dont even know how to start it up, im having way too much trouble just getting the tools to start learning C.

Please help me!!!!!
