Default HTML whitespace

Hi, i need to find a quick way to remove whitespace from the website im working on. ive made backups of each of the websites, and will make a backup every time i edit it. once ive edited it, ill use the whitespace tool to optimize it. i know once i use the tool, itll be impossible to understand what the code is saying, hence im gonna make the backups

can anyone recommend a good html optimization tool, either as a program or on a website?

thanks.

Try the trial of Dreamweaver not only is it a great program but it also has a good html source formatter that is the best i have ever used.
