you dont need HTML

dream weaver requires no knowledge of it, and its kinda easy, like playing a computer game at first you struggle but after a while you know the whole map, moves EVERYTHING

its just practice =]

if he wants to be a professional web designer PHP, SQL,ASP knowledge would help greatly too. Its one thing being able to design a nice looking webpage another making it work how you want it.

and still, knowing the underlying HTML is a must. Thats why I sent you that link, it goes through a lot of the basics.

Once a month, a school out here gives free HTML tutorials for anybody. I try to attend them, it's always fun to learn HTML!

Of course, you could cheat and use Front Page.

I am about half way through the HTML tutorial on the W3 website. I have a question though.

There are so many "tags" and varying combinations of them, is it imparative for one to remember each and every tag? Or is it sufficient to know the concepts of how all this works?

I am very excited about learning this.

I could not go to sleep quickly last night because I kept picturing myself with the ability to create web pages.

That depends on what level you want to use them. If you are just whipping up a webpage to convey info to family or friends, you only need a few that you really know. If you really want to work on webpages, it's probably good to know as many as you can. If for no other reason than to practice learningthe nuances of a coding language becuase it only gets harder from here.

It'd be nice if someone made a day at a glance calendar with this kind of stuff.
