I want to insert this template into my website, but don't know where to place it into the code.

That would just be placed in teh public_html folder. As that is a index page.

You need to enter the main directory of your website through FTP and go into the public_html folder. Then drop the html file of that template into that folder. Make sure the page is called index.html or it won't display when you visit the site.

Tried it, it won't let me drop those files into the index.html file.

No drop the files into the public_html folder. You cannot drop other files into a file.

Furthermore, i think a little more research needs to be done... While you can use a template to CREATE a website (HTML/Flash), that is all it will be, an empty template. You will need to use an editing software to 'fine tune' the template to your design and needs.

I think there may be a missunderstanding of what the web template is going to do for you.
