Default Help with Interfacing

I am a newbie so please forgive my ignorance.

Okay, now here is my problem~

I work for a medical software company and I have to write an interface for the labs that a doctor uses. The interface will be used to submit lab work requests to the labs then get the results back. The problem is, I don't know where to begin.

If anyone has the patients (no pun intended) to assist me in this matter it would be great.

Thanks alot!

first of all are you just creating the interface or do you have to write any of the code to actually carry out the submission of the lab work requests?

If you dont need to write the code or the code is already there you just need to use it then it will depend on what language the code was written in and how it all works. Is it web based or a full on app?

If you could find out some more information i'll help you out all i can. I generally start with a few sketches on paper to get some ideas together but i'm assuming you are past that stage.

get together some more info and on the project and ill see what more i can do.
