good language to learn?

i already have experience with HTML and want to learn how to program a rpg game like one that looks like golden sun

what language do you guys think i should learn

learn PHP and MySQL those together are the most powerful languages you can learn for web based programming.

I don't think web based programming is going to do much for an RPG, though. Granted, I'm assuming he also wants to make it a single player game like Golden Sun is. C++ is generally the go-to programming language for gaming.

PHP is the most annoying language I have dealt with (in my limit span of doing not much more than HTML.) If you can use it, it would be quite good fun I suppose. - not sure what it has to do with the OP though.

php is one of the easiest programming languages to learn out side of VB. because you dont know how to do it doesnt make it annoying its actually easier than c++/java etc in the fact that it doesnt require you to declare veriables. how about you try another language like c++ or java then still call PHP annoying. and HTML isn't a programming language.

anyways i thought he was making a website for an RPG misunderstood .

C++ and Java. Ive started learning PHP and C++ (I got stuck with one then started the other ) and both are frustrating at times. I find its more or less just the books that do a lousy job of explaining certain things. PS you wont be limmited to programing an rpg with these.

and how would i be programming with C++ like what program would i use for it?or should i say what would be a good one to use

dev c++ is nice but there are a ton of text editors that you can download c++ compilers for. and if your thinking about actually programming a game defenetly go with c++ or java php is a dynamic web based language and it will be impossible to make a game with it unless its like hangman or something lol which ive made before

All you need to learn c++ is a book (or something like that) and a compiler. I like Bloodsheds compilers.
