dethangel just to add, i know its a bit late. there are fdisk switches to create a partition, but i do not see any switches to delete a partition:

Just to add more to the tangle, Symantic has a util that takes the drive and wipes it partition and everything. Runs auto from a floppy or cd (have to build a boot cd for it) and is even used by the government. Really handy. called Gdisk.

cool inaris. it looks like gdisk is bundled with most versions of ghost and can be substidtuted for fdisk, very nice:
