Hi,

I want to get some automatic email / sms notifications sent to people who become members of my site. ie Once they submit their details, an automatic message is sent to the phone number they supplied.

I assume this cant be done without some third party / network provider????

If someone could point me in the right direction as to where id find info on this it'd be great.

I think being able to do that depends on their wireless provider. I would try and research it at places like
http://verizonwireless.com
http://sprintpcs.com
http://t-mobile.com
http://cingularwireless.com (don't know if that's their site)

Because I beleive you would have to use their network to be able to send it just through the internet.
