Default C++ Binary

I have been studying c++ for a while now but I still can't get a grasp on the binary numbering system and how it works, as well as the hexadecimal system. If anyone has any knowlege that they can share that may shed some light on this topic I would greatly appreciate it!

Thanks for the help,
