I have not a clue on how to make any kind of aplication...but I have an idea...and that s half of the challenge.

I work for a helpdesk company and I find my Note taking procedure to be kinda blah.

I use notepad(.exe - not paper) and i just type things in and seperate calls with

What would be the best way to make an application that has a text box and then a series of buttons where I can set it to 'Open' 'Closed' 'Escalated' and if it is open, the background goes blue, if closed it is red, if escalated it goes whatever.

from there - at then end of the day I want to export to a txt fo loggin purposes.

any idea where on earth to begin with this idea?

Try Microsoft Office 2003's One Note. I have it and I love it. It sounds like just what you need.

If you code it in a low level language your going to have to learn about implementing GUI's. That's quite a steep learning curve...

Making a form based database will be a lot easier.

i could make that but i dont really know exactly what you are talking about, you need a text box and you need to save the contents to a file, you need to post a screenshot of something similar, i have something like this coded.

ADZ, hahah man I do the same thing

Altough i use wordpad....I tried using excell for a while but it really was to big (my res @ work is like 1600x1200) and with all of the other programs that i have up, it was just taking up to much space...
i usually just do something like

Account # / StoreID
Name - Problem
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
and so on....it works for me i guess, but i wouldn't mind creating some app that saves to a db or something

Now this is wat i have come up with (in like 5 mins). you make your notes, and then assign it a status and it loads it into the left (so you can go in and make changes later on) then at the end of the day you can hit export and it will export them along with their status to a notepad document.
