Default Any Cobol People here?

starting a Cobol class in a few days so i was just curious if any guys are familar with it and what i need to look for.

Cobol isn't to bad at all. I've went through the beginner classes about a year ago. There's for sections to work with that I know of. I can't remember right now since it's been a while but it's all a procedure driven application. You define the procedures, then call them as you need them. YOu also define your data input and output which is probably the hardest part of it all. Just pay attention and remember you quotation.

I took some cobol classes a while back when I was in college along with Fortran classes. I don't remember much of it.

Just to be curious, what are you taking cobol classes? This language isn't used much anymore.

its required for my major. i really dont know why they have us taking it. they are trying to switch to C++ but i'm sure i'll be long graduated by then
