| Ok so I am having trouble with FPS when I play an online game "World Of Warcraft". It drops down to 30fps at some places and at some places it stays up to 60-75. Can this be my video card or something else? I know my comp is good in general. My comp info: Computer Computer Type ACPI Multiprocessor PC Operating System Microsoft Windows XP Professional OS Service Pack Service Pack 2 Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.11 (IE 7.0) DirectX 4.09.00.0904 (DirectX 9.0c) Computer Name User Name Logon Domain Date / Time 2007-10-13 / 12:16 Motherboard CPU Type DualCore Intel Pentium D 940, 3200 MHz (16 x 200) Motherboard Name Asus P5LD2 (3 PCI, 3 PCI-E x1, 1 PCI-E x16, 4 DDR2 DIMM, Audio, Gigabit LAN) Motherboard Chipset Intel Lakeport i945P System Memory 2048 MB (DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM) BIOS Type AMI (01/09/07) Communication Port Communications Port (COM1) Communication Port ECP Printer Port (LPT1) Display Video Adapter Sapphire RADEON X1600 PRO Secondary (256 MB) Video Adapter Sapphire RADEON X1600 PRO (256 MB) 3D Accelerator ATI Radeon X1600 Pro (RV530) Monitor Philips 107S (107S2) [17" CRT] (YA 66211132) Monitor Plug and Play Monitor [NoDB] (1634576) Here is my vid card info: Field Value Graphics Processor Properties Video Adapter Sapphire Radeon X1600 Pro BIOS Version 009.012.006.002 GPU Code Name RV530 PCI Device 1002-71C2 / 174B-0840 Transistors 157 million Process Technology 90 nm Die Size 150 mm2 Bus Type PCI Express x16 @ x16 Memory Size 256 MB GPU Clock 500 MHz (original: 500 MHz) RAMDAC Clock 400 MHz Pixel Pipelines 12 TMU Per Pipeline 1 Vertex Shaders 5 (v3.0) Pixel Shaders 12 (v3.0) DirectX Hardware Support DirectX v9.0c Pixel Fillrate 6000 MPixel/s Texel Fillrate 6000 MTexel/s Memory Bus Properties Bus Type DDR2 Bus Width 128-bit Real Clock 405 MHz (DDR) (original: 405 MHz) Effective Clock 810 MHz Bandwidth 12.7 GB/s Memory Timings CAS Latency (CL) 8T RAS To CAS Delay (tRCD) 6T RAS Precharge (tRP) 6T Row Cycle Time (tRC) 24T Row Refresh Cycle Time (tRFC) 30T RAS To RAS Delay (tRRD) 3T Read To Read Delay (tRTR) 6T Read To Write Delay (tRTW) 7T Write To Read Delay (tWTR) 12T Graphics Processor Manufacturer Company Name Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. | krazy Techie | Try lowering the settings, or resolution. Their isnt anything you can do without a gpu or cpu upgrade to increase fps... You could try updating your gfx card drivers, i just read up on this forum that a new driver got realeased. |

| OK, you have a 3.2 Dual core Pentium, 2 gigs of RAM, and a X1600. Your motherboard will handle a Core2Duo, and that would give you a speed bump. But your best bet would be to upgrade your graphics card. What kind of budget do you have in mind?

| I would suggest that you try lowering the max visible distance first. In some areas there is a lot going on and if you have it maxed, the video card has to load all of it at once.

then i remember shutting him up with this benchmark: BCCHardware - Tech News & More! - Pentium D vs Core 2 Duo and then he apologized like mad.. :0 but I'm just saying.. the Clock Speeds are low because of the Core Architecture based on Pentium 3 Processors
