Default Thermalright IFX-14...

Thermalright

Has the option of installing two 140mm fans!!...that is a beastly heatsink. I wonder how that back-side heat pipe cooler will work.

lol...I think I can see the motherboard collapsing.

I can see it now, Its gunna rip the proccessor right out of the socket hahah...thats what my old tuniq tower did....I didnt clamp it down right and it pulled the pins right outta my old athlon. But hey, if this one works great then go for it, it does look beastly.

that thing weighs almost two pounds without the fan or the back side cooler...holy crap you would have to put steel beams behind your cpu bracket!
lol i noticed that my 590 mobo has some serious support built into the back side of the cpu socket...eases my mind quite a bit.

These heatsinks are getting bigger and heavier. Should just have the motherboard sit flat. But would the weight of the heatsink, on top of the CPU, affect anything?....instead of having it ripping the motherboard apart from the side?

i dont think so...laying them flat would be better, imo.
but most motherboards rate the weight they can handle on the cpu socket mount.
