Just a quick question that I couldn't find searching around myself.

Anyways, I set up my own custom fan profiles to coordinate with my core temps on my 8800GT.

My question is if in order for my custom fan speeds to work, do I have to have the little red "enable background monitoring" button activated on the "Hardware monitor" page on Rivatuner?

Anyone know off hand how that works?

I was kind of wondering that too. I mean I'm not using it currently but I don't like having a lot of background programs on.
